This is the first time that my school has caught on fire, but WOW. Epic day! It even happened in my hallway too. Story time, kids:

I was in the bottom new part of my school (referred as the Green G-Wing), and during my 3rd period class (starting around 9:20 am). Ugh Algebra II. Me and my friends noticed in the class a burning plastic/wire smell in our class, and asking our teacher wtf was up. And then a girl was like, "Will the alarm go off?" Five seconds later it did. So me and my friend, Eileen, we run out in the hallway, and the whole hallway is covered in a somewhat thick smoke, so I was thinking, "OMG this is real!", and we had to evacuate to the student parking lot outside, which is kinda isolated from the rest of the school. And yay firetrucks were everywhere, and everyone in the student parking lot that way there was waving, and bonding in the great outdoors (lol) for a good 50 minutes to an hour.

Now, there was three stories I heard, and I will tell them in order:

Story #1: A kid was smoking a blunt in the boy's bathroom of my class' hallway, and threw it in the trashcan. Now, I can say even I know to flush it down the toilet. >:3
Story #2: Electrical fire, nobody was at fault.

After an hour being outside, we got back in, and our principal spoke saying that it was indeed arson, concluded by him and the fire department, and that the kid caught would be expelled from any MCPS school, and since arson being a felony, 48 different state schools. Can you say "fucked in the ass hard"? And then less than 3 minutes after the announcement, our principal got on the intercom again to say that the kid was caught. Since what was our 4th period was an extended 3rd, and at lunch, he was in the security office with me and 50 other students looking through this small crack in the window.

The kid's a Sophomore, which kinda sucks, but what was somewhat noble was that he turned himself in since he didn't mean to hurt anyone:

Story #3 (and true one written by him over Facebook): "I...was bored and with no intention of hurting anyone i decided to play with a lighter and then put a soap dispenser on fire...i watched it for like 5 seconds then like threw water on it to stop it...after i went back to my class we all smelled something burning and so as the boys bathroom door opened there was nothign but black smoke and so corey rubin and i went to tell security and then after the uhh fire alarm was dissabled i went to the security office and turned myself in...and now im expelled from WJ..

i popped the cherry on WJs 1st actual Fire....but im still not proud."

And another statement that he made after some girl bashed him: "well lets see ONE yes i was being stupid TWO atleast i reported the fucking incident and owned up to it and THREE i have a clean record, so i stopped it from getting to the wires yes i realized that many people could get hurt after the fact bu you know what if i didnt fucking do anything then you shouldnt be saying shit, and don come on this group that says save jon if you really dont want to help me because there plenty of reasons for me to stay in WJ cuz in addition to putting lives in danger i also saved them. which nullifies the problem not completley but still."

He's not innocent, but I really don't want him expelled. Maybe it can't be helped from my school, but at least don't screw his education over. Am I right?
